A Mobile Outreach Initiative of Lelia Cottner Ministries
Compassion on Wheels is a mobile outreach program of Lelia Cottner Ministries, a nonprofit organization organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Through this initiative, we provide clothing, food, and essential personal care items to individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Outreach occurs throughout the city as needs are encountered, allowing us to respond with immediacy, dignity, and compassion.
Our approach prioritizes respectful engagement, practical assistance, and responsible stewardship of donated resources.
Rather than waiting for people to come to us, our teams carry supplies throughout the city and respond in real time as we encounter those in need. Each interaction is rooted in respect, kindness, and the belief that every person deserves to be seen, valued, and supported.
How Donations Are Used
Donations received in support of Compassion on Wheels are used to:
Purchase and distribute clothing, food, and basic necessities
- Maintain outreach readiness and supply availability
- Support program-related operational needs consistent with our charitable mission
- Stock vehicles with weather-appropriate clothing
- Provide non-perishable food and bottled water
- Distribute hygiene items and basic necessities
- Respond quickly to urgent needs as they arise
- Every contribution—large or small—helps us extend compassion beyond walls and into everyday spaces where hope is needed most.
